Presley Gerber, Son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, Passes Away at 27

Presley Gerber, the son of renowned supermodel Cindy Crawford and prominent businessman Rande Gerber, has passed away at 27 years old.

According to public records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Gerber’s death occurred on Sunday at a rehabilitation center. Reports indicate that an autopsy has not yet been finalized to determine the cause of death.

Presley was the only son of Cindy and Rande Gerber, and the older brother to model and actress Kaia Gerber.

Public Battle with Mental Health

Gerber had been transparent about his personal struggles with mental health, frequently discussing them on social media platforms and in various interviews.

His sister, Kaia Gerber, addressed her brother's mental health and substance use in an August 2026 cover story for a fashion publication. The article characterized Presley's journey as a "decade-long struggle with drug addiction."

"When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone," Kaia, 24, shared with the publication.

She further reflected on her own reactions, stating,

"I think that’s also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing."

Kaia also spoke about her parents' previous inclination for privacy, contrasting it with her brother's openness:

"My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything—and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’ There’s only so much you can hide from the world. And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them," she explained, referencing Presley's candor on social media regarding his battles with mental health and drug use.

Sharing His Journey

In December 2025, Presley posted a video on Instagram, which was later removed, where he spoke about taking medications such as Xanax, Valium, and buprenorphine. In the video, he candidly discussed his panic attacks and recovery process.

He acknowledged recent personal setbacks, stating, "Unfortunately, I’ve had a lot of loss in many different forms recently, so that is not an excuse, but it’s the reason why I am where I’m at now." He expressed a desire to connect with others, aiming to help them feel less isolated.

"A. So you feel like you’re not alone, because that is how I feel most of the time and I have a feeling that if I saw all of this, a lot of people will at least know that there’s someone else going through it. And the second thing is, hopefully I find some people out here and are willing to help or know someone that could help," he conveyed.

Gerber also shared his experiences on a Studio 22 podcast in February 2023, where he reiterated his motivation for speaking out:

"Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do."

Modeling Career and Legal Incident

Beyond his personal struggles, Presley Gerber pursued a career in modeling, signing with IMG Models at the age of 15. He graced runways for numerous prominent designer houses, making his debut at Moschino's show in Los Angeles in 2016.

His portfolio included campaigns for Calvin Klein and a fragrance advertisement for Celine. He also participated in fashion shows for Dolce & Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger.

In 2019, Gerber faced a legal issue when he was charged with a DUI.
