Jack Osbourne Shares Insights on Raising Five Children Without a Nanny, Calls It Less Challenging Than Expected

Jack Osbourne has offered a candid look into his family life, disclosing that he and his wife, Aree Osbourne, have opted to raise their five children without the assistance of a nanny.

Speaking to a publication during a recent Emmy nominees event in Los Angeles, Osbourne remarked, "Yeah. So we don't do the nanny thing." He further elaborated on his initial expectations, stating, "I thought it was going to be way gnarlier than it is, but you find a rhythm."

Aree, who serves as a stay-at-home mother, and Jack are parents to daughters Maple, 4, and Ozzy Matilda, 6 months. Jack also has three older daughters from his previous marriage to Lisa Stelly: Pearl, 14, Andy, 11, and Minnie, 8.

The couple recently commemorated a milestone as Maple attended her first day of preschool. Jack shared a photograph of Maple alongside her infant sister, humorously referring to Ozzy Matilda as her "emotional support squad."

A Distinct Parenting Philosophy

Despite growing up within one of rock music's most iconic families, Jack noted that his approach to parenting is more structured compared to how his own parents, the late Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne, raised him.

Jack previously shared his perspective, explaining, "I'm a little more structured with my kids than my parents were with me." He added, "I won't take them out of school just to go travel. We do a little bit, but I think structure is healthy."

Jack and Aree welcomed their youngest daughter, Ozzy Matilda, in March. Her name serves as a tribute to Jack's father, Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away in July.

Jack had the opportunity to inform his father about Aree's pregnancy prior to the rock legend's death. In an interview in December, Jack described the pregnancy as a beacon of hope during a period of family mourning.

"It's awesome," he reflected. "I think it's been partly a healthy distraction, partly healing – probably in that kind of 'full cycle' category, in a weird way. It's very much taken energy out of the grieving side of things and parked in a bit more hopefulness."

Kelly Osbourne on Grief and Public Scrutiny

Jack's sister, Kelly Osbourne, has also openly discussed the family's grief following their father's passing.

In a recent interview, Kelly, 41, addressed the unkind comments she received regarding her appearance while navigating her mourning process.

When asked how she coped with public scrutiny, Kelly responded, "I didn't navigate it – I wasn't well." She further questioned, "How can you navigate something so cruel when you're so sick?"

Kelly, who is a mother to 3-year-old son Sidney, emphasized her current focus on both mental and physical recovery.

"You've got to fix the head before you can fix the body," she stated. "It's a slow process."

She acknowledged the long-term nature of her healing journey. "It's going to take me a minute. I'm not going to be fixed in a day. I'm not going to be fixed on one therapy session. This is a lifetime of work I've got to do and continue to do for the rest of my life."

Jack Addresses Body Shaming

Jack Osbourne has also encountered public commentary concerning his physical appearance.

The 40-year-old media personality took to Instagram to address articles that body-shamed him, labeling him "grossly underweight" and "sick." He expressed his disbelief, stating, "I cannot believe I'm having to actually make this f---ing video."

He clarified his weight status, explaining, "I have lost no weight since I got out of the jungle doing 'I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!' six months ago." He asserted, "I've been the same f---ng weight. The only difference is I shaved my beard and opted for a creepy mustache. That's the only f---ing difference."

Osbourne further conveyed his frustration, noting he had been "brutalized by the press about being overweight" throughout his life. He found it incredulous that despite reaching "a healthy weight," he was now "criticized even more," concluding his message to journalists and body shamers with a defiant "get f--ked."
