President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday his intention to be present at the upcoming marquee college football game featuring No. 7 Alabama and No. 2 Georgia.
The announcement came during a midterm campaign rally held at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. The president is anticipated to be at Bryant-Denny Stadium for the October 10 contest, where the seventh-ranked Crimson Tide will host the second-ranked Bulldogs. Both squads enter the game with undefeated records, positioning them as leading contenders for the national championship. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET, with national broadcast coverage provided by ABC.
Recent Rivalry History
These Southeastern Conference rivals faced off twice during the previous season. Alabama secured a narrow 24-21 victory in their regular-season encounter played in Athens. However, Georgia later delivered a decisive 28-7 win in the SEC Championship Game. That conference title triumph advanced Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart's record against the Crimson Tide to 2-7.
President Trump previously attended a notable contest between these two teams in 2024, also held in Tuscaloosa. In that game, Alabama established a substantial 28-point lead before ultimately clinching a 41-34 win. He observed the game from a private suite, accompanied by several notable Republican personalities.
Third Visit to Bryant-Denny
The upcoming event will mark President Trump's third occasion visiting Bryant-Denny Stadium for a football game. His prior appearances include attending Alabama's 46-41 defeat to LSU in 2019. Additionally, he returned to the university campus in May 2025 to deliver its commencement address.
Frequent Major Sporting Event Attendee
Throughout his second term in office, President Trump has frequently been seen at significant sporting spectacles. This visit to Alabama follows by just two weeks his attendance at Texas' 20-17 triumph over Tennessee at Neyland Stadium, an event notably preceded by a low-altitude flyover by Air Force One before the game commenced.
Other recent high-profile sporting events attended by President Trump include the College Football Playoff National Championship in January, Game 3 of the NBA Finals in June, and the FIFA World Cup final in July, where he took part in the trophy presentation ceremony.
In 2025, President Trump made history as the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl. His other notable appearances have encompassed the Daytona 500, the U.S. Open men’s final, the Ryder Cup, the annual Army-Navy football game, and several Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) events.
