Law enforcement officials in Georgia have charged 18-year-old Kingston Lammar Bradley with malice murder. The charges were filed Friday after investigators discovered trash bags containing dismembered human remains in the trunk of his vehicle.
Discovery Leads to Investigation
The investigation began when witnesses observed Bradley walking within his apartment complex while carrying a container. According to Smyrna Police Lt. Meredith Holt, during a news conference on Friday, Bradley reportedly dropped the container and fled into his apartment upon realizing he had been seen.
Witnesses subsequently contacted the police after discovering human remains inside the abandoned container. Lieutenant Holt noted that police had previously visited Bradley's residence after the family of a missing woman reported her car and phone were located there. However, a search warrant was not executed at that time.
Following the discovery by witnesses, officers returned to the property with a search warrant specifically for Bradley's car. Inside the vehicle, they located a tightly tied garbage bag that, according to a department news release, showed the "outline of a body part." The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s office was contacted and later confirmed that the bags contained human remains.
Victim Identified as Missing DoorDash Worker
Smyrna Police Chief Keith Zgonc identified the victim as Shanteria "KT" Mosley, whose family had reported her missing. Lieutenant Holt confirmed that Mosley was employed as a DoorDash worker, adding that the company informed police she had not been actively working on the day she disappeared. Reports indicated her DoorDash account was last active on Tuesday.
The specific connection between Bradley and Mosley remains unknown to investigators at this time, Holt stated.
"This is a shocking crime. I don’t know how else to describe it. I’ve been in law enforcement for 25 years, and I have been a part of multiple homicide cases. And I’ve worked crimes against children for 16 years, and this is a particularly gruesome crime," Holt said during the news conference. "I cannot imagine what the family is going through."
Police efforts are ongoing, with authorities actively searching for any additional human remains.
Legal Proceedings and Prior Incidents
In addition to the murder charge, Bradley is also facing further charges related to concealing the death of a person. Lieutenant Holt mentioned that police had responded to Bradley's apartment on multiple occasions in the past due to domestic disputes. However, she emphasized that none of these prior incidents suggested he was capable of committing such a heinous crime.
Bradley appeared in Cobb County Magistrate Court on Thursday, where a judge denied him bond. His next court hearing is scheduled for October.
