Dolly Parton's Manager Seeks Restraining Order Against Nephew in Posthumous Legacy Dispute

A contentious legal dispute concerning the legacy of country music legend Dolly Parton has escalated, with her longtime manager initiating legal action for a restraining order against her nephew. Danny Nozell, who leads She's Alive, LLC, the entity established by Parton to manage her extensive business affairs, submitted the request against Bryan Seaver in Nashville, according to reports.

The Origins of the Conflict

Bryan Seaver had been designated by Parton to publicly announce her passing, which occurred on August 25. Less than a month after the singer-songwriter's death, an internal disagreement erupted into a formal legal battle.

She's Alive, LLC, and Nozell accuse Seaver of transmitting increasingly hostile communications in the weeks preceding their application for a temporary restraining order. This legal move followed She's Alive's decision to terminate Seaver's employment due to his alleged "terrorizing conduct."

Allegations of Escalating Threats

Court documents reveal text messages and emails purportedly sent by Seaver. These messages reportedly began with threats to damage the brand. After Parton's death, they allegedly showed Seaver embracing his newfound notoriety and referring to himself as an "international arms dealer."

One message, dated September 1 and cited in court filings, reportedly from Seaver states:

I’m going to set up a podcast dedicated to ruining Dolly’s brand partnerships and telling the violations these people have done on us. It’s going to be great. Or f---ing pay me.

According to the court documents, these alleged communications caused significant alarm within Parton's business organization. This led to the resignation of several employees and the departure of her trust and estate attorney. She's Alive also reportedly engaged private security personnel to ensure the safety of employees at their workplaces and residences.

She's Alive officially dismissed Seaver on September 15. The entity has requested the court to prohibit Parton's nephew from making contact with or approaching within 1,000 feet of its employees, legal representatives, and business partners.

Nephew's Counter-Arguments

Bryan Seaver has challenged the allegations through a statement provided to TMZ. He stated:

I am a career soldier and military contractor and do conduct arms deals for foreign governments. I am a security professional, and I am a killer. However, nothing in this lawsuit were threats, and most of the comments I stand by.

Seaver further asserted that his messages were misinterpreted and taken out of their original context to appear menacing. He elaborated on his interactions with Nozell:

I was talking frankly in a private way with Danny, who I thought was my friend, and he fancies himself a gangster. A lot of these messages are two guys having rage talk and crying on the phone together while we were grieving.
