Maren Morris has been sharing moments from what she describes as her "healing journey." The 36-year-old country music sensation recently posted a series of photographs on Instagram from her trip to Bali, informing her followers that while she isn't fully recovered, she is "healing."
"Thank you @rachelbeauregard + @hotyogaeastnashville for the most beautiful journey to Bali with so many new friends for life," she wrote in the accompanying caption. "And it’s not over yet :)"
Glimpses of the Bali Retreat
Among the images shared, one notable photo captured Morris showcasing her toned physique in a black string bikini. She was pictured on a deck with lounge chairs in the background, holding a drink. Other snapshots from her getaway depicted her participating in a group meditation session, standing beneath a cascading waterfall, and enjoying playful moments with her companions.

Morris rose to prominence in 2016 following the release of her breakout track "My Church." This success paved the way for her debut album, "Hero," which featured other popular songs like "80's Mercedes," "I Could Use a Love Song," and "Rich."
Since then, she has released four studio albums, including "D R E A M S I C L E," "Humble Quest," and "Girl." Her artistic contributions have earned her widespread acclaim, culminating in 17 Grammy Award nominations and one win.

While the specific nature of her current healing process remains private, Morris previously discussed the deeply personal themes within her album "D R E A M S I C L E." In an interview, she revealed how the record explored her sexuality and her experiences navigating her divorce from ex-husband Ryan Hurd.
"It’s just cool; it’s a very intimate record, very vulnerable, not the easiest to make — so the fact that people are receiving it this well and healing from my healing is really special, to get to see the live form of that that place now."
Beyond her musical endeavors, Morris has openly addressed the impact of her outspoken nature on her mental well-being. In a TikTok video shared in January, she indicated that her mental health had suffered due to her profound concern and discomfort with what she termed the "weird status quo of country music."
She mentioned her reduced attendance at many award ceremonies, describing them as having become "dicey" since the political climate within country music shifted after former President Trump's initial term in office. Morris acknowledged the consequences of her candor.
"I've lost a lot of fans over the years because of my viewpoints and I think that's fair," Morris stated. "If you don't agree with me, and you can't enjoy my music because of my viewpoints, you are absolutely allowed to do that."
Morris has faced criticism for her political views in the past. In 2024, she received backlash and calls for her arrest after taking her young son to a drag show. She later defended her actions during an appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," clarifying that the event her son attended was "family friendly."
"I think it's just such an amazing expression of artistry, and so I just think like normalizing it and making it seem like these are just people that love dressing up, too, is an amazing thing," she explained. "It was an all-ages show, so it was completely family-friendly."
