Country Star Luke Combs Reveals Significant Weight Loss During Utah Hunting Expedition

Country music sensation Luke Combs recently shared a significant personal achievement, announcing a 30-pound weight loss during a hunting expedition in Utah. The revelation came as part of a video log posted on the Leupold Optics YouTube channel earlier this week.

"I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time," Combs stated at the beginning of the video, before discussing his physical transformation. "I'm down 30 pounds since last time. You probably can't tell because the camera adds 30 pounds, but I am down a little bit from last time."

The "Fast Car" vocalist emphasized that prioritizing his health has been his "main goal." He explained that the hunting excursion served as a significant impetus for his efforts. "But this has been one of the big motivators for me. To come here, you know, I got up and down with the guys in New Mexico last year enough to get by, but I can always be better. I just really wanted to be able to hold my own out here and not half-a-- anything. I want to earn it," he elaborated.

Throughout the vlog, Combs articulated his primary objective for the trip: to successfully hunt and tag a mature elk, ideally using a bow. Although he did not manage to secure an elk with a bow, the country music star ultimately achieved his goal by using a rifle by the end of the video.

Parental Motivation and Genetic Challenges

This isn't the first time Combs has spoken about his weight loss journey. In a 2022 interview with Apple Music, he disclosed that becoming a father significantly influenced his decision to improve his health. "This having a kid thing has really messed up my head on this thing in the best way. I want to be around, dude. Do you know what I mean?" he shared candidly.

The "Beautiful Crazy" singer also touched upon the role genetics played in his struggles with weight management. "It was always something that’s bugged me … especially when you’re younger. You’re like, ‘Man, I just got a horrible genetic dice roll on this thing.’ You start to realize that almost even more when you’re older, and it’s like, not that I don’t pig out because I do pig out," Combs admitted.

He continued, acknowledging his own accountability while also highlighting the inherent difficulty: "I’m not trying to say it’s not my fault, because it is in a lot of ways. But also, I got to this point where I’m like, ‘Man, I’d really love to trim down.’ And it’s so hard for me to do that."

Combs and his wife, Nicole, are parents to three sons: Tex, Beau, and Chet.

Conquering Personal Goals

Further reiterating his commitment, Combs appeared on Joe Rogan's podcast in 2023, where he again discussed his lifelong battle with weight. He expressed a strong determination to achieve this personal goal, emphasizing its self-driven nature. "Because there’s this thing that I wanna accomplish that is solely up to me. Nobody else can do it for me. Nobody did this to me. I want so badly to conquer that, and I will," he affirmed.
